Milkweed: the only plant monarchs lay their eggs on

A stunning tall pink wildflower that monarch butterflies can't survive without. Showy Milkweed seeds have strong dormancy and won't germinate without a long period of cold. Each one is coated with GermiSync™ to break through that barrier and formed into a visible seed pellet. Now you can finally get this critical pollinator plant to germinate the same season you plant it!

Covers 30 sq. ft

Where It Grows

Showy Milkweed (Asclepias speciosa) is native to the western United States, commonly found in open fields, roadsides, prairies, and disturbed areas throughout the Mountain West, Pacific Northwest, and California.

Native states: CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, UT, NV, AZ, NM, CO

Best suited for: Full sun, well-drained soil, and dry to moderate moisture. Highly drought tolerant once established and thrives in tough, low-maintenance conditions.

RAKE
Clear away weeds and debris, then rake the soil until it’s loose and fluffy. Good prep helps the seeds make proper contact with the soil.

SHAKE
Shake pellets directly from the seed shaker. Because each pellet contains a single seed, spacing stays even and planting is controlled.

PRESS
Walk over the area or press the pellets into the soil with your hands or feet. This helps keep them in place and improves seed-to-soil contact.

WATER
Keep the soil consistently moist for the first 14 days to kickstart germination.
