Prepared for Success: Coated & Pelleted

This classic Western annual now blooms easily and returns year after year through natural reseeding. Each pellet holding a single seed, planting is quick, effortless, and avoids the mess and overseeding of loose seed.

Net Wt. 2.5 oz (80 g)

California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) is native to the Pacific Coast and western United States, blooming across coastal bluffs, open grasslands, and dry hillsides from southern Washington through California and into the desert Southwest.

Native states: AZ, CA, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA

Widely grown across: Most of the U.S. — adapts well outside its native range as a cool-season annual that reseeds freely.

Best suited for: Full sun, poor to average well-drained soil, dry to low moisture. Does not transplant — direct sow only. Closes its flowers on cloudy days and at night.

RAKE
Clear away weeds and debris, then rake the soil until it’s loose and fluffy. Good prep helps the seeds make proper contact with the soil.

SHAKE
Shake pellets directly from the seed shaker. Because each pellet contains a single seed, spacing stays even and planting is controlled.

PRESS
Walk over the area or press the pellets into the soil with your hands or feet. This helps keep them in place and improves seed-to-soil contact.

WATER
Keep the soil consistently moist for the first 14 days to kickstart germination.
