Where It Grows
Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) is native across most of the eastern and central United States, thriving in open prairies, dry meadows, and sunny roadsides from the Great Plains to the Atlantic coast.

Best suited for: Full sun, well-drained soil, dry to average moisture. Tolerates poor soils and drought once established.
RAKE
Clear away weeds and debris, then rake the soil until it’s loose and fluffy. Good prep helps the seeds make proper contact with the soil.
SHAKE
Shake pellets directly from the seed shaker. Because each pellet contains a single seed, spacing stays even and planting is controlled.
PRESS
Walk over the area or press the pellets into the soil with your hands or feet. This helps keep them in place and improves seed-to-soil contact.
WATER
Keep the soil consistently moist for the first 14 days to kickstart germination.
