Tidy Tips (Layia platyglossa)
$12.00
Tidy Tips, Made Easy.
Tidy Tips is a cheerful California native wildflower that produces bright yellow flowers with distinctive white-tipped petals, creating eye-catching spring displays while attracting pollinators. Its lightweight seeds can be difficult to see and sow evenly, often resulting in patchy coverage. Each seed is formed into a visible pellet for easier planting and more even spacing.
Covers 30 sq. ft.
California, plus low-elevation parts of the Mountain West and Desert West (CA, UT, AZ)
RAKE
Clear away weeds and debris, then loosen the top inch of soil. Good prep helps the seeds make proper contact with the soil.
SHAKE
Shake pellets evenly across your area (~1 inch apart). Each pellet contains one seed, so spacing stays consistent and planting stays controlled.
PAT
Rake or pat seeds snug into the soil. This keeps them in place and ensures strong seed-to-soil contact.
WATER
Water once or twice daily. The soil should look dark, like a damp sponge for the first 2-3 weeks to to kickstart germination.
