RAKE
Clear away weeds and debris, then rake the soil until it’s loose and fluffy. Good prep helps the seeds make proper contact with the soil.
SHAKE
Shake pellets directly from the seed shaker. Because each pellet contains a single seed, spacing stays even and planting is controlled.
PRESS
Walk over the area or press the pellets into the soil with your hands or feet. This helps keep them in place and improves seed-to-soil contact.
WATER
Keep the soil consistently moist for the first 14 days to kickstart germination.
Will it spread into my yard?
Canyon Bloom will naturally reseed itself and slowly fill in your wildflower patch over time — meaning less replanting and a fuller, more established look each season. But it won't spread all over your property or invade your lawn. Turf grass is highly competitive and will choke out wildflower seeds before they ever get a chance to establish. These are native species that evolved to fit into their environment, not dominate it.
Can I plant it in a pot or container?
A raised bed or planting box works great — it gives the roots room to spread and holds moisture much better than a traditional pot. We don't recommend small containers though, as they dry out too quickly and limit root depth. For best results, plant in the ground or a raised bed in a sunny, well-drained spot.
