Easy to see. Easy to scatter.

Prepared for success: GermiSync™ Treated & Pelleted

Smooth Aster is a dependable native perennial that produces masses of lavender-blue flowers late in the season when pollinators have fewer food sources. Its tiny seeds normally need a cold period and can germinate slowly without treatment. Each seed is GermiSync™ coated to skip cold stratification and formed into a visible pellet for easier planting and reliable establishment.

Covers 75 sq. ft

Smooth Aster (Symphyotrichum laeve) is native across most of the United States, blooming in late summer and fall across prairies, dry open woods, and roadsides from the Great Plains east to the Atlantic coast and into the mountain West.

Native states: AL, AR, AZ, CO, CT, DC, DE, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY

Best suited for: Full sun, dry to medium well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Blooms August–October — one of the latest-season natives for pollinators.

RAKE
Clear away weeds and debris, then rake the soil until it’s loose and fluffy. Good prep helps the seeds make proper contact with the soil.

SHAKE
Shake pellets directly from the seed shaker. Because each pellet contains a single seed, spacing stays even and planting is controlled.

PRESS
Walk over the area or press the pellets into the soil with your hands or feet. This helps keep them in place and improves seed-to-soil contact.

WATER
Keep the soil consistently moist for the first 14 days to kickstart germination.
